Kaiju Big Battel: Fighto Fantasy is 16-bit styled RPG featuring turn-based combat, plenty of exploration, and a funky soundtrack to pump you up. This is an officially licensed game based on the live-action monster wrestling group Kaiju Big Battel, who have been performing their Godzilla-meets-WWE act for over 20 years.

Designed for Kaiju fans and newcomers alike, Fighto Fantasy takes players on a quest across time and space as they work to undo damage caused by the evil Dr. Cube as he rampages through history in search of fame and glory. With seven main playable heroes (and a secret one to unlock), players explore six time periods and punch out dozens of deadly monsters.

All the world is watching as the Kaiju Big Battel Title Fight is about to begin: The diabolical Dr. Cube vs. the patriotic pugilist, American Beetle! Things take a sudden turn when Cube pulls out a secret weapon that rips open portals into history. Now it's up to the Kaiju Heroes to pursue Cube across the centuries, from Egypt to Rome to Russia and beyond! Is the mad doctor pursuing dangerous artifacts lost to time, or does he just want to deface famous landmarks with his own ugly mug?

⚫ Combat: No random encounters here; touch enemy NPCs on the map to trigger turn-based battles. Each of the seven main heroes has their own strengths and weaknesses.
⚫ Side stories: When you're not chasing Dr. Cube through time, take a minute to help out some locals. Slay a musclebound mummy, rescue lost Kaiju heroes, adopt cats!
⚫ Map abilities: Each hero has a unique ability to interact with environmental objects, unlocking hidden paths and secret treasures.
⚫ Difficulty selection: Easy Mode for a relaxed experience, Normal Mode for players who want some tense fights, and Hard Mode for players looking for more deadly dangers.
⚫ 12+ hours of RPG adventure.

This is awesome, thank you!!

Hey I got a mail that you were uploading keys to download for anyone who already purchased the game. Where can I do that?

Hello! Please send an email to SuperWalrusGames@gmail.com and include which bundle you got the game in and I will forward the key, sorry for the inconvenience!

Hey I sent a mail but sadly I haven't received anything yet. I'll send one again right away.

Should be all set now!

thank you!

Thank you so much for putting in this extra effort and time for bundle owners. This is indeed a very generous offer!

I just sent an email requesting a steam key.  Hopefully this issue gets fixed so you don't have to keep individually sending them out.

(+1)

@SuperWalrusGames, if sending out Steam keys does not cost you anything, I'd appreciate one, but if there's any cost involved then I am fine to carry on with the version here :-)

@SuperWalrusGames I sent you an email regarding this issue. Thank you all for Answering.

I appreciate you individually emailing people steam keys! I'll be the weird one who's fine with their itch.io copy.

(+5)(-3)

I received an Email talking about the STEAM Keys...but where do we Clam them?

(+2)(-3)

Yeah, it might help if it was described where on this screen we are supposed to look for the Steam link so we can know if it is missing or not.

(+3)

Super Walrus left comments right before you made yours than answers the question.

(+1)

Got the email, but is there any difference between this and the steam version?  (I got my copy thur the Bundle for Racial Justice and Equality)

(+4)

No difference aside from Steam Achievements

(+15)

In the meantime: If anyone purchased from a bundle and isn't seeing a Steam key download link, please send an email to SuperWalrusGames@gmail.com and include which bundle you received the game in and I'll send you a key directly. Sorry for the mess!!

(+1)

Got mine emailed already, thanks Super Walrus!

Super generous :D

(+24)

Hello everyone I'm trying to figure out why Steam keys aren't appearing for all owners! They should be valid for bundle purchasers as well. I've contacted Itch support to try and work this out, sorry for the confusion!

(+1)

No worries, thanks for the update.

Thank you!

Thank you for looking into it. Please update

(2 edits) (+1)

Neither the Bundle for Racial Justice and Equality nor the Bundle for Ukraine included any Steam keys at all, even if the games in them did indeed include keys for regular purchases.

Maybe this is an itch.io option/setting that somehow overrules your (or any other dev's) preferences. 🤷

(+1)

It looks like you're right, developer support page says this shouldn't be the case but it seems to be. I'll make this right even if I have to send them out individually!

ill be fine without, thanks. prefer drm free anyway - nice of you to offer though! :)

(-2)

It was an irritating choice the Itch folks made. For that reason I almost didn't get the RJ bundle.

Thank you, came here just to check that. Nice game btw!

(+3)

If anyone purchased from a bundle and isn't seeing a Steam key download link, please send an email to SuperWalrusGames@gmail.com and include which bundle you received the game in and I'll send you a key directly. Sorry for the mess!!

(+3)

Thanks for doing this. I am yet another bundle-buyer who can't see a link, but but especially if these cost you money, I am fine without a Steam key.

(1 edit) (+1)

Got the email about steam keys also like the other posts.

I wonder if this was meant for direct buyers of the game rather than us who got it in either of the big bundles.. otherwise there's going to be a looooot of people looking for these :P

(+1)

I got the email about Steam keys but I can't find where they are. There was no link in the email message. I got the game thro the Racial Justice Bundle 2 years ago.

(1 edit)

+1 to this question

EDIT: I apparently separately bought it a year before the racial justice bundle but also have it from that.

+1 to this question. Same situation.

Just received an email about Steam keys being available for this now, anyone know how to claim them? Don't see any option(s) regarding Steam in my Downloads list.

Will this game be updated through Google Play as well? I've been seeing updates through here, but nothing is coming up on Google Play?

(+1)

Google changed a bunch of requirements for the Play store that mean the folks who made the game engine need to update bits and pieces before the latest update can be approved. The Google Play version will be updated when this is settled, sorry for any inconvenience.

Thank you for your quick response as always, and no worries! :)

I just wanted to add that I did join the OHR engine discord, and I am excited to hear about the progress updates! Very excited to see what's next in store ;D

You probably know more than I do then, haha. I can't figure out Discord for the life of me

What Engine did you use? This game is great!

(+2)

Thanks! I used the OHR engine, it's a simple RPG engine with very low system requirements created by a long time friend. http://rpg.hamsterrepublic.com/ohrrpgce/Downloads

I was guessing that Thanks!

so beautiful!!!

I wish that this was available for Xbox.

(+2)

I am so happy this is a thing!! Amazing game, well done you all!! I have missed these VHS's since the Portland Hollywood Video went out of business... and I just reintroduced my whole IT department to Kaiju Big Battel today because of this game!! On behalf of the Commissioner, thank you for preserving the legacy of Big Battel. I must ask, and I fear a redacted report.. but: What happened to kung fu chicken soup?

(1 edit)

Just a suggestion; could it be possible to have the RAMPAGE  skill be scanned during the Mirror match in the Abyss? It would make it easier on those who may have possibly missed it during the *SPOILER* fight.

(+2)

Yeah this is a good suggestion, I wanted to update the coliseum so that any missed abilities could be earned there but I missed  a couple like this. I'll be updating it soon.

(+1)

Patch is up! All of the Mirror Match enemies can give an ability to Robox now.

Thank you so much! You all over @ Super Walrus Games are awesome!!

One of the best Kaiju themed games for Mobile. I have three copies of this game ( 2 digital and one physical, that I have framed) If you want a game that's a dash of Final Fantasy,  Chrono Trigger and Earth Bound, this is your game.

Where did you find a physical edition of this game?

(+1)

Hello! Physical copies are mostly sold at live Kaiju Big Battel events now, but we still have a few in stock up on eBay to buy online - https://www.ebay.com/itm/163421234288?hash=item260caa2470:g:l~0AAOSwa1ZcDAAT

(1 edit)

I would love to buy one :)

(+2)

An excellent old-school RPG with a unique premise and characters. The gameplay is a bit stale and well-worn, but it works. This is the kind of game you're going to want to play for the experience, the plot, and those characters. Still, there's a lot to do here - it's a long game with side quests, bonus mini-games, and a lot of characters to recruit to your party.

(+1)

Great video, thanks so much!

(+2)(-1)

I really enjoyed the game and included it in my second Hidden Gems Video. A like/subscribe would help me a ton to continue with this series <3

(1 edit)

Another great find, a decently sized RPG (12 hours-ish) with an original theme that finally gives a good reason for oversized sprites on the map (you are a giant monster/robot after all). The underlying RPG system are fairly standard, but the world with plenty surprises, characters and just pure insanity of the setting makes this a clear recommendation to check out. 4,5/5

Hi, there's a bug on the Android version I want to bring to attention... I'm not sure what causes it, but sometimes the down direction will stick, and it's impossible to move in any direction. Not only that, but it continues in the menu, with the selection continuously scrolling down. I don't know what triggers this bug but I have to restart the app to fix it, which is an issue if I haven't saved in a while.

Thanks for the report! I haven't seen this one but will look into it ASAP.

Can you let me know what kind of phone/tablet you're playing on?

I'm playing on a Samsung Galaxy Note 9.

(+1)

Pretty good overall, but is there any way to change the default key configurations? Placing action and cancel so far apart is less than ideal. RPG Maker uses Z and X, which is really nice on a QWERTY keyboard. It would also be nice to get an explicit message when you hit a weakpoint or resistance like RPG Maker VX does, if that's possible.

I can't seem to find Dusto's ultimate skill, unless he doesn't have one? The only sidequest I have left is the superboss, which I can't figure out how to beat. I also seem to be missing one of Robox's status skills, the one immediately below Corrode. (I may also be missing other skills of his, unless not all of them complete a line.)

(+1)

Hello! There's currently not a way to change key configurations but it's something we want to add in the future.

Dusto's ultimate skill is hidden in Hero HQ and involves an object you can examine in the HQ kitchen.

That Robox skill can be learned from the Bear Ranger in Boston.

Thank you for playing!

Ah, I didn't realize that object did anything! I enjoyed it, very funny.

The Bear Ranger gives Whip It, which is the skill down and to the right of Corrode.

(+1)

Whoops, I misread the original message! This is his final spell list for that category. If Slap is the spell you need, it can be learned from Monger Kingu, one of the minibosses in The Abyss. You can refight him in the cavern path leading to New Abyss City.

I actually tried to refight that enemy as soon as I regained Robox, but it doesn't seem to respawn.

Can you rest at the New Abyss City warp point and then check on that enemy again? If that doesn't respawn it, it's a bigger bug I'll have to look into. Thank you!

Game's a silly and fun blast all the way through. I don't usually play RPGs, but this has just so much fun charm in it. Even if I'm not familiar with the license this game is based on, it's still fun on it's own, even if it can be hard sometimes

(+1)

Thank you!

Wonderful RPG, really enjoying it! Left a 5-star review :) Thank you so much for including it in the bundle! It's great to discover hidden gems that I probably never would have found out about otherwise!

Thank you for playing!

Really fun game. Runs great on my phone.

Thanks!

No. Thank you!!

This game is amsome. i love so much this game and finished That

Thank you!

(+1)

Hello, the linux version of the game gives me this error "Exit code 0x7f (127)" when trying to start it in the itch.io launcher, try to run it from outside but it does nothing.

Do you have any idea what the problem may be?

(+1)

First I've heard of this, I'll take a look into it and let you know!

(+1)

I've uploaded new Linux builds for 32 and 64 bit binaries, please let me know if you're still seeing this error!

(1 edit)

Keep getting the same error from the itch launcher.

I have tried to run it from the terminal and I get the following:
/.config/itch/apps/kaiju-big-battel-fighto-fantasy/kaiju-linux/kaiju: error while loading shared libraries: libSDL-1.2.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

(+1)

I reached out to my engine developer and this was what he had to say, I hope this helps!

"That means that the Linux system does not have SDL 1.2 libraries installed. Almost all Linuxes will have a package available for SDL 1.2 since it is a popular library for a lot of games.

If they have Debian or Ubuntu or a Linux from that family they should look for a package called something like libsdl-1.2

For CentOS or Redhat or a Linux from that family, should look for SDL-1.2

Also it is worth mentioning that SDL 2.0 will not work. The newer version of the library is not backwards compatible with SDL 1.2 (but it should always be possible to install both versions at the same time. They do not conflict)"

(1 edit)

Ok after installing sdl1.2 library from several different packages I have got it to work.

Can we also get the android game uploaded here? If that's possible?

(+1)

Sure! I've also added the Mac build.

Sick! You're the best.

This looks awesome. I just ran across it. But payday isnt till friday. Hope I remember this then. <3

Thank you!

(+1)

Hello! Is it possible to purchase the Linux version on itch.io? It seems to be available on Steam but not yet here. Thank you!

(+1)

Hi! The Linux version should be available now. Please  let me know if there are any issues, thank you! (Wait until October 30th if you're going to buy though, there's a sale launching for the game's first anniversary.)

(+1)

That's so nice! Thank you so much!!
